VICTORIA

Rural Bus – Families living in Victoria may be eligible for student transport via the School Bus Program (SBP) – a Victorian government initiative administered by the Department of Education and Training (DET) and Public Transport Victoria (PTV). This program provides school transport for eligible families in rural and regional Victoria on existing school bus runs for students who meet the following criteria:

    1. Are attending their nearest neighbourhood government school, and;
    2. Reside 4.8 km or more from the school; measured by the shortest practicable route from the student’s front gate to the school’s main entrance.

Students not meeting the eligibility criteria, or qualifying for an exemption, may be able to access an existing SBP service (where seat availability exists) as an ineligible traveller.
Cobram Secondary College is a bus coordinating school within the network. Cobram Secondary College is responsible for communicating travel options to families. All schools within the network must adhere to the requirements of the SBP policy.
